Entomology
Insect science, integrated pest management and the protection of mountain crops from emerging pests.
The Department of Entomology advances the science of insects and their management in agro-ecosystems. Teaching and research focus on integrated pest management, biological control, pollinator health, pesticide stewardship and the surveillance of new pests emerging under a changing mountain climate.
Students work in modern insect rearing and diagnostic laboratories, and take part in field surveys across the orchards and field crops of Swat and the wider Malakand division.
